After 2 posts some of you may be wondering what exactly is a Silhouette electronic cutting device? Here is a picture from the Silhouette America website: http://www.silhouetteamerica.com
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=E16jPYtFBa0 provides an overview of the Silhouette Cameo.
I own the Silhouette Cameo which has a 12″ width cutting capability. The Silhouette Portrait has a 8″ width cutting capability. I don’t want to write too much more about it as their website explains everything. You can find project ideas, different materials that the Silhouette can cut, descriptions of the cutters, etc.
I also want to include a link to the Silhouette Online Store: http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com. Here you will be able to explore all the different shapes available for purchase. There are thousands and thousands so prepare yourself! You will notice the price of the shapes are $1.09 each. You can significantly reduce this fee if you buy an subscription starting as low as $10.99 a month which you would receive $28.00 in monthly credits. That means the average download would cost $0.43. The store also gives away one free shape every week.
It’s also important to note that you can import your own shapes (from any source!) into the Silhouette Software. This was a major selling feature for me! It’s not exclusive and gives you many, and I think the best, options for crafting with an electronic cutter.
